We are GetFocus (www.getfocus.eu), a fast-growing scaleup with one mission - accelerating technological progress. In a nutshell, our tools help organizations bet on winning emerging technologies before it is obvious by forecasting the technological future.

With our AI-powered platform, we can predict technology transitions and disruptions years before they happen. We developed a SaaS product that enables R&D and strategy leaders in business and government to see what is coming, so they can make well-informed investment decisions that are future-proof.

Our customers are typically large, tech-focused corporates such as Reckitt, BASF, and AlfaLaval. We also serve governmental institutions like the US Navy and leading universities. Currently, we are helping our customers make investment decisions in areas such as the energy transition, the future of computing, sustainable materials, and much more.

What is the job about?

Our customer base is growing rapidly and along with it come lots of new features we develop for our users. Given the quick growth in features, tools, and insights, we want to ensure our users get an optimal UI/UX experience on the platform, this is where you come in!

What you will be doing

User research: using initially mostly qualitative (e.g., interviews, focus groups) and later also quantitative (e.g., surveys, analytics) methods to understand users' needs, motivations, and behaviors. Deliverables could include a design vision, personas, and user journeys/flows/maps to guide the design process.

UX optimization: identify usability issues across the product, employing heuristic evaluation and user feedback mechanisms.
Prototyping: translate functional requirements into prototypes of varying fidelity (low, mid, high) to gather targeted feedback through usability tests. Incorporate user feedback to iterate and improve concepts continuously.

Design system: develop, maintain, and evolve a design system/style guide to ensure UI consistency and alignment with the brand identity. Continuously explore and propose innovative concepts to improve user engagement and satisfaction.

Visual and interaction design: develop the product’s visual language, including color schemes, typography, iconography, and interactive elements to create an intuitive and attractive interface.

UI copy: create microcopy that improves the navigation and experience of the platform, aligning this with marketing. Use user feedback and engagement metrics to refine and improve UI copy.

Delivery: oversee and contribute to the timely completion of the design process and product delivery (from user research to implementation) in collaboration with PM, developers, and marketing. Monitor progress and address any issues or obstacles that may arise. Implement improvements in design processes.

What you will bring

At least 3 years of experience in Product/UX/UI design
Previous experience in a B2B complex data analytics SaaS environments
An affinity with visualizing complex data-driven insights in a user friendly way
Strong (English) communication skills both verbally and in writing
Experience in a scrum team and knowledge of how to contribute to this way of working
Knowledge and hands-on experience with design-related software (Figma etc).
Ability to shift focus, choose new goals, and work in a flexible way
Strong problem-analysis and judgment skills
Ability to come up with new ideas or solutions in complex situations on your own
Ability to translate knowledge about the field and the market into the right approach
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Planning and organization skills
