The division of Experimental Psychology at Utrecht University's faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences is recruiting an Assistant Professor in Neuropsychology. The position entails a combination of 60% teaching and 40% research activities. Are you interested? Then read the full profile below and apply.

Wat ga je doen?

The Assistant Professor will be appointed at the division of Experimental Psychology. The division is involved in three Bachelor programmes: Psychology, Artificial Intelligence, and University College Utrecht. In addition, the division is involved in the Master’s degrees in Neuropsychology, Applied Cognitive Psychology, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Data science, and Neuroscience & Cognition. Furthermore, we are responsible for the Helmholtz PhD programme (Cognition & Behaviour). The research in the division is organized in four domains: perception, social-affective processes, neuropsychology, and youth. In each domain both fundamental and (clinically) applied methods are used.

The core tasks include:
  • contributing to teaching in a subset of the aforementioned Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes - the exact teaching task will depend on your profile, but will at least involve teaching in the domain of Neuropsychology (BSc and MSc level);
  • developing, carrying out, and supervising research within the field of Experimental Neuropsychology;
  • connecting (neuro)cognitive research to neuropsychology research within the division;
  • contributing to the acquisition of external research funding.

Wat breng je mee?

  • have scientific creativity and productivity, as evident in recent publications in international peer-reviewed journals or peer-reviewed conferences;
  • have the ability to, and preferably experience with, acquiring research funding;
  • have good social skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues from different disciplines;
  • value both individual and teamwork, as well as academic leadership at all levels, as described in Utrecht University Recognition and Rewards Vision (see esp. leadership section);
  • value sharing scientific results and data with other researchers (aimed at increasing collective achievements), and with society (aimed at increasing the university’s contribution to societal issues). This refers to, e.g., teamwork with colleagues within and outside UU, and the principles of open data and open access.
