Lead Pipe Support Designer
For one of our clients in the Offshore Energy Industry we are looking for a Lead Pipe Support Designer.
The main scope of the pipe support team is to provide the pipe support standard detail drawings and pipe support detail drawings for all pipe supports and its associated items, in accordance with the design standard, that enables the construction yards to fabricate and install the pipe support scope.
The complete scope can be divided into 3D modeling (Frames and ancillaries), 2D pipe support drawings, and 1D Documentation, (Structural calculations). Linked to the various project phases, the scope for Pipe supports will increase from High level (interfaces with Structural discipline) to detail design.
Responsible for completing the design of pipe supports in the assigned area.
Responsible for 3D modeling and the preparation of all pipe support deliverables. This includes calculations for the frames within the pipe support guideline and its respective trimmer beams.
Responsible for checking and approving pipe support detail drawings before they are released for fabrication.
Responsible for checking and approving pipe support ancillaries on isometrics before they are released for fabrication.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates with a Technical education at BSc level or adequate relevant experience in this discipline. You have min. 6 years of experience in Pipe Support Design and/or (Structural) Engineering, preferably in similar positions.We are looking for candidates with a Technical education at BSc level or adequate relevant experience in this discipline. The following skills and experience are required:
Experience in Piping design and Structural discipline
Experience in FEED, Proposals, Basic- and detail design and construction.
A problem-solving mentality.
Previous experience with floating production installations
A pro- active approach and not afraid to take initiative.
Maintains accuracy and efficiency in face of pressure.
Experience with working in an international dynamic, changing environment.
Helicopter view, able to set priorities.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbally.
Experience in Offshore Piping design rules and regulations.
Experience with E3D Design, Draft, reporting and Navisworks.
Able to make Structural calculations.
Able to deliver arrangements complete design packages of components and subsystems under supervision of Discipline Lead Engineer.
