Our Advisory Group is providing environmental solutions for our clients in the offshore wind and maritime sector. We offer a comprehensive range of environmental services to support high profile infrastructure projects such as offshore wind farms, new wind port developments, to coastal management works. We combine market-leading technical excellence, across the range of environmental disciplines, with a clear understanding of clients’ ambitions, needs and pressures.

We specialise in marine EIAs and tender support for complex offshore wind developments and wind port operations. We have successfully supported our clients in delivering sustainable projects. Due to continued growth in a variety of markets including offshore wind and wind port sector we are looking to grow our team.

What you do as an Marine Ecologist

We are seeking an enthusiastic, optimistic, conscientious, and talented person with excellent communication skills and technical ability in relation to marine EIAs and the consenting of marine infrastructure projects. In this role you will be collecting baseline information, assessing risks and opportunities for the marine ecosystem and advising on decisions in the tender process, feasibility study, design, construction and operation to enhance the ecological performance. You will also support in offshore wind tender processes and (wind) port development as a marine ecologist. Within all these projects, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of experts and consultants. And, your role will involve directly working with clients, problem solving and representing the company in client offices, regulator and stakeholder meetings.

You will work for the Advisory Group Resilience & Maritime NL. This team consists of about 180 colleagues.
Within the Maritime & Resilience advisory group, you will become part of the Green Ports & Energy Projects Team. This team consists of 25 people working in the Netherlands (Amersfoort and Rotterdam) and the UK. This group and team excel

in a wide variety of services and/ skills in the fields of Climate Resilience and Maritime developments. We provide our clients, both private and (semi) governmental, with a range of services throughout the various phases of a project: from inception, through master planning, feasibility, design all the way to construction supervision. We have a strong foothold in the Netherlands, but we operate worldwide.

What you bring

As an environmental consultant/ marine ecologist for the maritime and offshore wind sector, it is evident that you have a strong interest in developing and executing projects worldwide.

Furthermore, you have:
Master Degree in Marine Ecology
5 year experience in the delivery of EIAs or the environmental consenting process
Experience in support in tender preparation for offshore wind or port developments is a pre
Excellent written and verbal communication
of English (Dutch is preferred, but not required)
, organisational, analytical and time management skills
Good interpersonal skills
Particular experience in Habitats Regulations Assessments, Benthic Ecology or Fish and Shellfish Ecology would be advantageous

And you are:
Dependable, pro-active and self-motivated
Flexible and adaptive / innovative
